This is commonly suffered by children and is believed to be a natural part of growing up. Meanwhile, adults who are suffering this illness are believed to be cursed by the unseen beings in the environment.

This is recognized by the formation of many patches in the skin, itchy, moist and painful
Management:
Some of the villagers still consult with the man-aalisig and usually, they are advised to performed a ritual that includes butchering of native chicken. This is done when they have already applied western medicine but to no avail. To adults who are suffering gagate, they are instructed by the traditional healer to pay a ritual (butchering a native chicken) in the area where they may have caused harm to the unseen beings.
