Local name: Kalatae (Tagabawa), Lagnub (Bisaya)
Indication: For sickness felt after missing a meal, para sa "pasmo" (Bisaya), "pasma" (Tagalog)
Plant part used: Mature Leaves
Method of Preparation: Steam-Gather 9 leaves of kalatae.
Direction for use: Place the leaves on a half-filled bowl of rice broth. Place the leaves on top of the steaming broth. Let the patient eat the concoction.
Additional information: Pasmo is considered as folk illness unique to Filipino culture. It is said to be caused by skipping meals or in others. The patient usually complains 'lamig".
