Local name: Kamugna (Tagakaulo), Dalaw (Ilocano), Lubigan (Tagalog)
Indication: To protect the pregnant women from the mangkalat
Plant part used: Mature Leaves
Method of Preparation: Pounded leaves- Pound a suficient amount of Kamugna.
Direction for use: Apply on the abdomen of the mother to protect the baby inside.
Additional information: It is believed that the mangkalat doesn't like the smell of Kamugna.
Informant: Tyana Laginan-Mamolongay-a traditional general practitioner in Tagakaolo and at the same time she is also a Mananamok (Tagakaulo)-traditional birth attendant or midwife.
