Common name: Sweet calamus (English), Lubigan (Filipino)
Local name: Kamogna (Tagabawa), Lubigan (Tagalog)
Indication: For headache due to sabar (Bagobo) hampak hangin (Bisaya)
Plant part used: Mature leaves and roots
Method of Preparation: Mastication- Gather 1 mature leaf then tear it into 7 parts.
Direction for use: The leaf is masticated by the healer and then "tugpa" or blown to the affected part three times. Done only once a day until the affliction is gone.
Additional information: Sabar is a Tagabawa term culturally defined affliction/ disease, it's usually manifested with common symptoms such as head ache, fever, colds but pain in different body areas is the most common patients' complaint.
