- This is caused by sudden change of weather, spirits of dead relatives, unseen beings in the environment.

- The villagers consult with the man-aalisig and follow his or her instruction of healing. Most of the villagers today seek the help of the Barangay Health Workers who were mostly trained on basic health practice by the Community Health Education Services and Trainings in the Cordillera Region (CHESTCORE). For first aid, they BHWs makes an anti dehydration formula for the patient to drink. It is a tradition to the Uma Tribe to butcher a young native chicken and let the patient drink the soup. It is believed to hasten the healing.
