Local name: Anagdong (Tagakaulo), Hanagdong (Tagalog)
Indication: To stop bleeding after giving birth (post delivery care) , paundang sa dugo
Plant part used: Bark and Roots
Method of Preparation: Decoction-Scrape the inner part of the bark then boil the scraped bark with the roots .
Direction for use: Let the mother drink the decoction before giving birth. Then the scaped part can be placed as a poultice on the abdomen of the mother. Use a belt ulon(Tagakaolo) or bakus (Bisaya) to secure it on place.
Additional information: The procedure is done to prevent the back flow of the blood (pagsaka sa dugo).
Informant: Clarita Inantay-a traditional general practitioner in Tagakaolo and at the same time she is also a Mananamok (Tagakaulo)-traditional birth attendant or midwife.
